Web Stores

So, you want to offer a wide variety of products to your customers, but still want to make sure they can shop without putting you or your customer’s health at risk. Online shopping and stores have become one of the main ways in which people shop due to COVID-19. It is an effective and safe way to offer merchandise to your customers, giving them a selection of items to choose from while remaining safe. A web store gives you the ability to reach out to others with options, and allows everyone to see these options in one, compact space.

The Many Advantages

There are many advantages of using a web store. One of the advantages is the personalization that it offers. This includes, the art and designs that are present on the garments, the garments themselves, and the way that the store looks. This makes the store noticeable and stand out as an extension of your specific brand or organization. There are also options that limit the people who have access to the store. For example, if you are a large corporation and only want a handful of people (say in a certain branch of your corporation) to have access to the items on the store, we are able to add a password that is needed to enter the store. There are also several different promotions that we can set up, including discounts and store credit. These can also be limited to those with a code. Using a web store also cuts down on the work needed to collect orders and payments. Since all the items are on the store, there is no need to personally hand out or send out order forms, and once the customer chooses their item and pays for it, the payment is immediately processed. Another advantage when using a web store as opposed to physical order forms is the ability to easily and conveniently share the link to the store with as many people as you like, and if you are alright with it, your customers can send the link to others to purchase items as well. Web stores are also quite flexible, and can be re-opened, extended or closed pretty much on demand. If you need the store to be opened for a few extra days due to orders not being placed in time, it can be extended by however long you need for those orders to be placed.

There Are Some Disadvantages

There are a few things to keep in mind when thinking about using a web store. One of the main issues with a web store is when it is not marketed properly, or it may not be the right tool for your customer or audience. If the store is not marketed properly, then the result from the store will be less than expected. A few examples of poor marketing would be not telling your customer that the store is up and running. Another would be sending the link to one person only. If you do send the link to a single person, make sure to follow up and make sure that they were able to get it out to the rest of their organization. The last disadvantage is that it is… well… a web store. There are sometimes issues with internet connectivity or with the web store itself that may limit the use. These issues can usually be solved and fixed in a matter of hours if the issue is severe, but there is no guarantee that you will not have down time where the store cannot be accessed or used. While these large errors are quite rare, they could theoretically happen. Going along with this, some people may not be able to use a web store due to not knowing all that much about technology or the web, or perhaps they do not have access to the internet. A Great Way to Sell

All in all, web stores are a great way to sell merchandise. They are simple, personalized, and effective if marketed correctly. In times like this where gathering together may not be an option, web stores make sure that your customers can still get what they need, when they need it.   Jacob Keller – Web Store Specialist
